Delta Photo Club Welcomes Acclaimed Sports Photographer Jeff Vogan

The Delta Photo Club is delighted to invite members and guests to a special Zoom presentation to commence the new season with Toronto-based sports photographer Jeff Vogan, who will be speaking on “From Hobbyist to Full-Time Sports Photographer.” The event takes place on Wednesday, September 10 at 7:30 PM via Zoom.

Jeff’s story will feel familiar to many of us. His passion for sports photography began when his son first stepped onto the playing field. Like many parents and grandparents with cameras in hand at local community games or school events, Jeff started by capturing moments of someone dear to him. What began as a way to preserve family memories soon grew into something much bigger—so much so that in 2016, Jeff left the corporate world to follow his heart and become a full-time sports photographer.

Today, Jeff is a Getty Images contributor, Camera Bits Ambassador, and photography instructor who has photographed everyone from amateur athletes to world champions and Olympic medalists. Along the way, he’s learned valuable lessons about not only the art of photography but also the business and storytelling side of sports imagery.

In this presentation, Jeff will share insights on:

• Tips for both hobbyist and aspiring professional sports photographers

• The challenges and opportunities of turning a hobby into a career

• The business side of sports photography

• Lessons learned photographing amateur and professional athletes

This talk is catered for photographers of all levels. Jeff’s approachable style and passion for teaching promise to leave everyone inspired.
