Our Photo Night themes for October are as follows:

1. Rule of Thirds: The rule of thirds is a visual composition guideline that divides an image into a 3×3 grid using two horizontal and two vertical lines and is a proven composition technique for producing photos that are visually appealing and dynamic.

2. Home Town: Images taken close in the current town you call home or some place that feels like home even if you do not live there. (Hint – maybe something from our season opener in Ladner)
3. Open: The opportunity to submit photos which don’t fit into the other categories.

Please take note of the numbering system below. Each member will go through their top, number one, images/videos for all categories and then we’ll move to the next person. So ensure you pick the images/videos you most want to share. If time permits we will repeat the process, with everyone showing their number two images/videos.

It is important to name your files as shown below so that they can be sorted and everyone’s images can be shown.

2. Home Town
   • LastnameFirstname-1-Home-ImageTitle
   • Use 2 for 2nd photo etc.
3. Open

   • Use 2 for 2nd photo etc.
4. Videos/Slideshows
   • LastnameFirstname- VS – Category – VideoTitle
   • Videos should be kept to 1.5 minutes or less in length for viewing.

Note: Each member can submit up to 2 images for each of the 3 themes of 1) Rule of Thirds 2) Home Town 3) Open

Each member can submit up to 1 video/slideshow per photo night.

Images/videos/slideshows need to be uploaded by by 10:00pm on Monday, October 19, 2026 using our upload form. Links to the photo and video upload forms are included in an e-mail with subject line “DPC Photo Night – October 21, 2026”

Remember, for the best display quality, images should be resized up to a maximum width of 1920 pixels and a maximum height of 1080 pixels. This may not be possible with cell/tablet images so please send us the largest image possible, up to the limits indicated above.
