DPC Photo Night November 8, 2023

Great Blue Heron With Prey – David Friederich

Our next Photo Night is November 8, 2023. We’re asking you to get your creativity on and share your amazing images with us.

The first theme is “Birds in Motion”. This isn’t your average bird on a stick, it’s the bird doing something. Doesn’t matter what he’s doing, it just can’t be nothing.

The next theme is inspired by BBC’s photo challenges, and it is “On the Edge”. What an “On the Edge” image looks like is up for your interpretation so surprise us.

The third category is “Tertiary Colours”. These colours are found when you combine primary and secondary colours. Why tertiary colours you may ask; it’s because these are the colours that are often found in nature and many are found in the fall when the seasons are changing.

Below is description of tertiary colours found on Wikipedia:
A tertiary color or intermediate color is a color made by mixing one part of a primary color with half part of another primary (or one part of a primary color and one part of a secondary one).

The primary colors in an RYB color wheel are red, yellow, and blue. The secondary colors — green, purple, and orange — are made by combining the primary colors.

In the red–yellow–blue system as used in traditional painting and interior design, tertiary colors are typically named by combining the names of the adjacent primary and secondary.
red + orange = vermilion (red-orange)
orange + yellow = amber (yellow-orange)
yellow + green = chartreuse (yellow-green)
green + blue = teal (blue-green)
blue + purple = violet (blue-purple)
purple + red = magenta (red-purple)

The final theme/category is ‘Open’. In this is the category, members can submit images that don’t fit into anything else this month. It’s where members can just share something of interest to them.

Remember, for the best display quality, images should be resized to a maximum width of 1920 pixels and a maximum height of 1080 pixels. This may not be possible with cell/tablet images so please send us the largest image possible, up to the limits indicated above.

Categories are: Birds in Motion (Birds), On the Edge (Edge), Tertiary Colours (Colours) and Open.

Note: Each member can submit up to 3 images for each theme,
It is important to name your files as shown below so that they can be sorted and everyone’s image can be shown.
