Photo Night – October 30, 2024
October 20, 2024Skills Night – November 13, 2024
November 4, 2024Delta Photo Club was excited to present “Going Deeper: Photography as a Spiritual Path,” led by photographer and educator Judy Holland Hancock. This presentation, designed for photographers at all skill levels, addresses the various ways that photography can serve as a powerful tool for spiritual journey, reflection, and awareness.
In this presentation, Judy Holland Hancock guides us through her personal journey of using photography as a means to engage more deeply with the world around us, finding the essence rather than just the superficial appearance of simple things in life. Symbolism, light, and sensual forms are often drawn upon in her work, and reflect her lifelong search for meaning and peace. “I’m drawn to the deeper questions in life; to considerations of the sacred and universal, themes that are often absent in our daily conversations.”
This talk is not associated with any particular religion or spiritual tradition, making it accessible to everyone who is simply curious about the intersection of creativity and mindfulness. Through captivating imagery and thoughtful discussion, participants will be invited to view photography not just as a technical skill, but as a path to self-discovery and greater understanding of the world and themselves.
Judy Hancock Holland is an award winning Canadian photographic artist and lifelong educator. Her work has been exhibited in North America and Europe, and her YouTube tutorials have garnered over 350,000 views. She does presentations for groups all over the world via Zoom, as well as one-on-one coaching and portfolio reviews.
