Paul Bride has been an adventure photographer for almost 30 years. He was an adventurer first, but once he realized the extraordinary world he was encountering in his many adventures, “it just made sense” to become a serious photographer.

Paul scraped together the money for better cameras and started a career that has made him one of the most widely published Canadian photographers in this growing genre. He now has over 60 front covers to his credit. In 2021, he was one of the first photographers to be featured in the Canadian Alpine Journal, now in continuous publication for over 118 years. He has worked closely with many of the world’s best climbers, including the best alpinist who has ever lived (Paul was a contributor to the 2021 Netflix film The Alpinist
about the late Marc-Andre Leclerc). The skill set necessary to photograph cutting edge alpinists in extreme environments obviously extends well beyond the camera, and Paul will talk about the extraordinary and complex set ups necessary to capture this action.

Paul’s photography is not limited to mountaineering, and he has a special interest in photographing Indigenous peoples around the world as well as sport activities on and under the water. Paul has a large format coffee table book coming out in 2026.
