In House Competition Winners
December 16, 2020Planning in Nature Photography
January 2, 2021Since our Iona Regional Park outing, DPC has not organized any large group forays due to heightened covid concerns. In fact, most Metro Vancouver parks have large signs prohibiting group hikes of any sort. Hopefully this has not stifled the informal outings of individuals and small groups who seek to exercise safely in the fresh air while enjoying their favourite pastime: photography. I know many DPC members are regularly getting out with one or two others with shared interests. The Boundary Bay Dyke, Brunswick point, Centennial Beach, the North 40 and Ladner Harbour Park are a few of the locales that David and I visit often to photograph birds while keeping a safe distance.
As well as chasing blue jays, owls and raptors in natural spaces during daylight, DPC’s Lew Potts suggests we practice our Christmas display photography at night by visiting the many magnificently decorated homes in Ladner and Tsawwassen. In case you missed it in last weeks Optimist, here’s the list of lit up homes compiled by Ian Jacques—you can visit by car or by foot.
