March 20, 2025This will be an in-person meeting at Kin Village on March 26, starting at 7:00pm to select prints for:
- Crescent Beach Black & White Print Challenge
- Inter-Club Friendly Print Competition
For Crescent Beach, you are invited to submit up to three (3) Black & White prints. Six (6) photos, all from different makers, will be chosen to represent Delta Photo Club at Crescent Beach Challenge on April 26 as well as at the Inter-Club Friendly Competition on April 30.
For the Friendly Inter-Club, you can submit up to two (2) prints, colours and/or black & white. Out of all the prints submitted for both rounds of selection on this night, we will select an additional 29 prints, at least one (1) from each maker, to a combined total of 35 prints to represent DPC at the Friendly on April 30. Should there be more than 35 makers, image scores will be the deciding factor.
Schedule:
- 7:00 PM – Arrival, print stacking, set up
- 7:30 PM – Crescent Beach selection starts (B&W, open theme)
- 8:40 PM – Inter-Club Friendly selection starts (colour or B&W, open theme)
Competition Rules & Guidelines
Please observe the rules and guidelines for each competition carefully as there are differences.
Crescent Beach B&W Print Competition Rules
- Subject is open (but inappropriate images will not be accepted)
- Prints must be black and white. No tinted or toned prints will be accepted
- No AI images
- Prints must be 10 x 12 inches minimum, and 16 x 20 inches maximum
- Prints may be produced on any type of photographic paper as long as the end result is black and white, but not printed on non-paper items such as metals
- Prints may be displayed in any format such as polyptychs, be circular or octagonal in shape, and have photographic framing of the image as long as the framing is either black or white
- Prints must be thick enough or attached to suitable backing sufficient for them to stand upright on their own on an easel to be judged. They may be matted with black or white matting, but are not required to be
- Prints must not be framed or covered with glass, etc. There should be no script on the front of the prints or the mat
- Images should not have won or placed in previous CAPA competitions
- All entries must have the following information attached to them on the back top right corner: Title, Maker’s Name, Club Name, Address (use 5410 10th Ave Delta BC)
- Should your print be selected, you will need to provide a jpg image titled the same as your print (Title-FirstLastName-DeltaPhotoClub.jpg)
- If a photographer is a member of more than one club they may participate in only one club’s entry. Individual entries will not be accepted
Inter-Club Friendly Print Competition Guidelines
- Subject is open
- Photo size 8 x10 inches minimum, 16 x 20 inches maximum
- Prints must be attached to suitable backing sufficient to stand upright on an easel to be judged. They may be matted with black or white matting
- All entries must have the following information attached to them on the back top right corner: Title, Maker’s Name, and Club Name
- AI generated images created from scratch are not considered photographic images and are not accepted
- Use of AI features contained within a post processing application such as masking, sharpening, de-noise, content aware fill, or cloning are permitted
- Using Generative Fill AI to remove elements from a photograph or to expand the canvas is allowed
- Using AI to generate a new element of an image from a text prompt (e.g. give the subject a red hat) is not allowed
- Composite images are allowed as long as all the components of the image, e.g. sky or texture, were captured by the photographer
How to submit
- Register your prints for both competitions by submitting the DPC Print Registration Form no later than 11:59PM on Tuesday, March 25
- Bring your physical prints to Kin Village on Wednesday, March 26 at 7PM

We need your help with the following tasks for the Inter-Club Friendly Competition on April 30. Let us know if you can help with the following.
- Order and deliver food and beverages
- Set up seating, tables, easels, lighting at 6:30 pm
- Set up table to organize and stack prints pre-judging
- Set up print display tables
- Man the check-in table
- Manage the food and beverage table
- Take down & clean up afterwards
