The DPC In-House Digital Competition is set for November 20th. Now is the perfect time to let your creativity flow, fine-tune your images, and prepare your masterpieces for submission. Start planning, and let your vision shine!

This year, we’ve curated four exciting and dynamic themes to challenge and inspire your creativity:

  1. Colours: Bring out the vibrant and bold side of your photography by capturing the essence of colors in all their richness. Whether it’s a striking contrast or a subtle palette, we want to see how you play with hues to create visually stunning images.
  2. Fill the Frame: Challenge yourself to make every inch of your frame count! In this theme, we encourage you to zoom in, focus on details, and ensure that every corner of your photo is packed with interest, drawing the viewer into the scene.
  3. Silhouettes/Shadows: Explore the mysterious and dramatic play between light and dark. This theme is all about capturing the beauty of shapes, forms, and shadows, highlighting the contrast between illuminated and obscured elements in your composition.
  4. Give it a Try: This is an Open category, meaning there is no theme. Enter any photo you like. This category is for new club members or members who have not submitted an image to a club competition in the last two years. If you haven’t submitted to a DPC club competition you can still submit in the other categories – you’re not limited to this category.

We can’t wait to see how you interpret these themes and bring them to life through your lens!

Our judge for the evening is the highly respected Gordon Battaile from the Forest Grove Camera Club in Forest Grove, Oregon.

Submission Rules & restrictions:

Each member may submit a total of three images. These may be in any category you choose. For example you can submit three images all in the same category or one image in each or any other combination you choose.

AI Considerations

  • DPC considers a photographic image as one captured by a light sensitive device such as a film or digital camera, cell phone, or tablet. AI generated images created from scratch are not considered photographic images and are not accepted.
  • Use of AI features contained within a post processing application such as masking, sharpening, de-noise, content aware fill, or cloning are permitted.
  • Using Generative Fill AI to remove elements from a photograph or to expand the canvas is allowed.
  • Using AI to generate a new element of an image from a text prompt (e.g. give the subject a red hat) is not allowed.
  • Composite images are allowed as long as all the components of the image, e.g. sky or texture, were captured by the photographer.
