Greetings new and veteran members,

Last June, we were oh so close to the end of restrictions, guidelines and quarantines. The second jab was to be a firewall against Covid, giving us back our summer freedom. The freedom was shortlived however. Omicron moved in like an unwanted relative, overstaying his welcome and taking up your favourite spot on the couch!

Well, it’s now February 2022, we’ve all had at least three jabs and Covid is moving from pandemic to endemic status! So we Davids are cordially inviting you all to emerge from the doldrums of physical isolation and meet us for a late winter photowalk at Reifel’s Migratory Bird Sanctuary on Westham Island (Friday Feb.11 @ 9:00am)

Where: Reifel’s Sanctuary. 5191 Robertson Road (Westham Island), Delta, BC. Meet in parking lot near main office/gift shop kiosk.

Reservations: You must book online on the Reifel’s website to reserve a parking spot. Payment is not made until you arrive. Online is booking only. Go to https://reifelbirdsanctuary.com. Navigate to “Booking your visit”

Bring a mask just in case you use the washroom, visit the gift shop or are unable to socially distance on the trail. Once you’re in, you can roam the sanctuary till 4:00pm. Dress warmly, bring a snack or beverage. Rain is not anticipated. Feel free to bring binoculars or spotting scopes as well as camera gear.
