Happy New Year! We hope that you all had an enjoyable holiday season and we wish you all the best for 2023.

Our themes to kick off 2023 DPC Photo Night on January 11 are: 

1) Holiday Lights:  The winter holidays bring brightness during a darker part of the year and we thought you’d like the challenge of capturing the light in its various forms including but not limited to Christmas light displays, fairy lights, candlelight, night lights, etc.

2) Favourite Winter Accessory: Is it a clothing item? Sports item? Snow tool? Something to help you get around? Keep you warm? Use your imagination and creativity and maybe some whimsy to show us what that accessory might be. 

3) Viva Magenta: Pantone has declared the colour of the year as Viva Magenta. To quote from their website ” ( Magenta ) vibrates with vim and vigor. It is a shade rooted in nature descending from the red family and expressive of a new signal of strength. Viva Magenta is brave and fearless, and a pulsating color whose exuberance promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration, writing a new narrative.” Here is the link if you want to read more:

4) Looking up: An example of perspective photography in which your image should emphasize the angle and unique viewpoint you are hoping to to give the viewer. Show us the patterns, lines or reflections you can capture from this angle. 

5) Open: The opportunity to submit photos which don’t fit into the other categories.

It is important to name your files as shown below so that they can be sorted and everyone’s images can be shown.

Videos/Slideshows

Videos and slideshows are best sent via a free program such as “We transfer” to photonight@deltaphotoclub.com

Note: Each member can submit up to 2 images for each of the 5 themes of 1) Holiday Lights 2) Favourite Winter Accessory 3) Magenta 4) Looking up 5) Open 

Members can also send short slideshows or videos.

Remember, for the best display quality, images should be resized to a maximum width of 1920 pixels and a maximum height of 1080 pixels. This may not be possible with cell/tablet images so please send us the largest image possible, up to the limits indicated above.
