Skills Development – Photography & Photoshop 2 + Casual Sharing/Critique Session

Date(s) - 10/30/2019
7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

The Delta Photo Club presents the second session of “Introduction to Digital Photography in Two Parts” on Wednesday, October 30. If you missed Part One, no worries as Part Two will focus on the artistic aspects of photography and students will learn how to create better images.

Long time member and acclaimed photographer Francois Cleroux will discuss basic composition principles and the creative consequences of exposures using apertures and shutter speeds. Controlled motion blurs, in-camera movements, shallow depth of field, long exposures, extra long exposures and other creative techniques will be explained or demonstrated. There will be time for Q&A so bring your questions. Attendees will be e-mailed a hand out ‘Study Guide’ if they so choose. If time permits there will be a quick demonstration on how to import images into your computer and how to do some quick edits using Adobe Lightroom.

Pre-registration is not needed. Guests are welcome for $15.00, payable at the door. Class is free for members in good standing of the Delta Photo Club.

When:  7:30 – 9:30 pm, at the Kin Village Recreation Centre in Tsawwassen, Wednesday, October 30th. More details available at or email questions to

For those of you who would like an alternative to the Intro to Photography Class on Wednesday, we have a casual sharing and critique session at Kin Village (back room) at the same time.  I expect that most people will take the course but for those who would like to share some photos and get some feedback in a smaller group, this is your chance.  Bring some photos, prints or digital if you have a device to show them (we will not have a projector), and bring any questions that you may have (e.g. What would make this better?  Should I crop differently, take something out, add something, move on to a different photo? …).  Also be prepared to provide input for others as this is a group input session and there will not be any pros (sorry no Greg) providing input.

We will meet in the back room, turn left after entering at the main entrance and go to the end.

George will be coordinating this session. If you have questions, feel free to email him at
