DESCRIPTION:From Dave Francis and David Egan\n\nWell\, the time has finally
  come where we can venture out again as a club.\n\nOur first official outi
 ng in over a year will take place at Burnaby Lake Regional Park. The entra
 nce at Piper Spit has ample parking\, washrooms\, the Nature House and tak
 es you directly to a wooden walkway (the spit) out into the lake. Expect t
 o see many different birds - more wood ducks than I've seen any where else
 \, herons\, sandhill cranes\, mallards\, geese\, red winged blackbirds etc
 ... This spot is where the extremely rare Mandarin duck has been hanging o
 ut for the last year or two and was recently spotted there again.\n\nIf yo
 u are not interested in birds there are some nice forested trails to explo
 re and it will be a chance to get together in person again.\n\nOuting deta

 commended:  longer lenses for birds\, macro lenses for shots of interesti
 ng foliage\, wide angle for landscape shots across the lake.\n\nParking: 
  Parking available at the Piper Spit entrance.\n\nThe spit is fairly narro
 w and can be crowded at times (hopefully not at 9:00 am) so if you feel un
 comfortable being close to strangers bring a mask.\n\n\nHope you can make
