DESCRIPTION:Happy New Year to all DPC members from your dynamic outings duo
 \, Dave and David.  We hope you had a picture perfect holiday and that Sa
 nta rewarded your good behaviour with a stocking full of new photo gear.\n
 \nTo test that gear\, DPC's first official outing of 2019 will be an even
 ing photowalk at historic Steveston Village and Harbour---a picturesque au
 thentic fishing port by day and a multi-coloured oasis of artificial light
  by night.  We will be honing our low-light long exposure techniques and 
 compositional skills to create images that pop.  It will be a time to soc
 ialize\, to share knowledge and to master equipment.\n\nFor a century\, th
 e harbour\, the wharves and the canning plants of Steveston were the epice
 nter of Western Canada's fishing industry.  Now\, a hub of local tourism\
 , it is known as much for its seafood restaurants as it is for its daily f
 resh catch on fisherman's wharf.\n\nDetails for the outing are as follows:
 \n\nDATE:  January 30\, 2019\n\nTIME:  7:00 pm\n\nPLACE:  Steveston Vil
 lage.  We will meet at the SW corner of One Road &amp\; Moncton in front 
 of Rocanini Coffee Roasters.\n\nGEAR:  Bring wide angle or medium telepho
 to lenses\, camera\, tripod\, extra batteries\, SD cards\, protective gear
  sleeves/covers and remote triggers.  Dress warmly.\n\nTRANSPORTATION:  
 Carpooling will be the best option.  Ample free parking (2 hr limit) on t
 he street\, but there are several no-limit parking lots in the vicinity\n\
 nREFRESHMENTS:  We will finish up around 9:00 pm for appies and winter al
