We have a great year of Digital Nights planned th at will show off your talents and hopefully challenge you in your post pro duction work.\n\nThis year our format will be slightly different than last year as I have polled the membership and many are interested in monthly P hotoshop tutorials that will\, hopefully\, shed some light on one of my fa vourite programs. I'm hoping to increase everyone's knowledge of this comp lex\, diverse\, powerful and sometimes confusing software program. So\, in addition to members showing their digital images monthly I will give a br ief tutorial on Photoshop at the end of the evening.\n\nFor example\, I wi ll demonstrate the Photoshop tools at the September digital night\, and th en challenge members to apply these skills to their own images in the week s following. Members would then submit their before and after images that they've worked on in Photoshop at the following month's digital night in O ctober.\n\nEach Digital Night we will have a theme in addition to the mont hly Photoshop challenges. This month's themes are reflective of the beauti fully sunny and hopefully fun filled summer we had. So\, think Summer Sun and the people\, activities and action you captured in your images. The th emes fall into three main categories: Action\, Activities and People. To n ot exclude any images we will also have an Open category.  To be cliche: Lights\, Camera\, Action!\n\nPhotoshop tutorial this month is an introduct ion to Photoshop's desktop and basic editing tools\, such as: Crop/Straigh ten\; Levels\; Brightness/Contrast\; Black &\; White\; and Channel Mixe r.\n\nBelow are the criteria for this month. Have fun and share those imag es.\n\n1. Action\nDid you catch that special moment in the action\, where the horse rounded the barrels\, or the cyclist sped to the finish? Share t he action that you've captured with us!\n\n2. Activities\nSummer lends its elf to so many outdoor activities either on land or water. We'd love to se e what you've captured.\n\n3. People\nPeople are fascinating and the summe r sun seems to attract them in droves. Send you portraits\, send your crow ds\, send your images of the little or big ones.\n\n4.
