SUMMARY:Virtual Digital Night
DESCRIPTION:Virtual DPC Digital Night is Wednesday\, July 29\, 2020\n\nExtr
a! Extra! Read all about it! We're hosting a virtual digital night in the
summer! We have had such a great response from club members so why not ha
ve a summer opportunity to share what club members are photographing durin
g this unusual time.\n\nThis month we have four categories that are all ab
out what has been happening this Spring and Summer. The photographic categ
ories are: Lightbox challenge-Photographing Fences\; Red/White and Canada
Day (shortened to RW)\; Explore BC (shortened to ExBC)\, and an Open categ
ory.\n\nThe photographic focus provided by the Lightbox Photography cards
Karoline Cullen has kindly shared with us is all about photographing fence
 s. As shown on the card\, fences can be a strong composition element. On t
he DPC outing to Deas Island Park this past Sunday there were a number of
opportunities to photograph fences. They were a great backdrop to the beau
tiful flowers growing in the fields. \n\n\n\nThe second theme this month i
s photographing Red & White and Canada Day. We just celebrated Canada Day
and it's often shown in red and white - representative of our Canadian fla
 g. Think Canada Day but also think about red and white in your photography
. We'll enjoy the contrast between the two colours and possibly feel a sen
se of community with the Canada Day photos.\n\nAs we've been asked to eith
er 'stay in place' or 'vacation at home'\, let's share what that means to
us British Columbians. The 'Explore BC' category is all about what we see
in our province. What comes to my mind are flowers that are blooming\, bir
ds I see in the sky or animals that I see wandering about. But\, that isn'
t everything wonderful about our province. What about our water\, forest a
nd mountain landscapes? Anything about beautiful BC is what can be submitt
ed for this category.\n\nThe last category is Open\, to allow members to s
hare images that may not fit into other categories.\n\nCategories are: Fen
ces\; RW (for Red & White and Canada Day)\; ExBC (for Explore BC) and Open
.\n\nNote: Each member can submit up to 5 images for each of the 4 regular
categories.\n\nMembers can also send short slideshows or videos.\n\nZoom
Meeting Details on MailChimp.\n \nRemember\, for the best display quality\
, images should be resized to a maximum width of 1920 pixels and a maximum
height of 1080 pixels. This may not be possible with cell/tablet images s
o please send us the largest image possible\, up to the limits indicated a
bove.\n\nIt is important to name your files as shown below so that they ca
n be sorted and everyone's image can be shown.\n\nFences\n- Fences-Lastn
